so then after kos we flew back to istanbul - another questionable flight - and stayed at the stunning hotel amira. there is so much to do in istanbul, such a good place to be a tourist. we visited the blue mosque (often seen as a backdrop in the above photos) and went inside the hagia sophia - which was easily the most amazing building architecturally added with the ridiculous amount of detail put into all of its mosaic covered ceilings and walls. we also went to a sisha bar, drank copious amounts of apple tea (similar to warmed up apple juice), attempted to help make a rug, got a henna tattoo, saw so many stray cats - that all seemed to be really well fed and tasted turkish wine - not as bad as predicted. i really, really loved istanbul.

ok, so, the next leg of our trip was spent on kos island - a greek island that is an advertised '20 minute' boat trip from bodrum. really not 20 minutes, plus they dont warn you about the seriously unorganised customs once you get to kos. but when you get past that.. kos was great! we stayed at the kos aktis hotel was so nice - had the best view+amazing room service. actually there was the tastiest icecream sold right next door and pastries (see above photo). then luke discovered a laser iphone app and makes me look like this guy -

great.

but i would definitely advocate a visit there or perhaps a greek island where there is more stuff to do? whichever you please, kos was really nice.

so continuing on from where i left off - actually before we boarded the sailboat we stayed at the grand yazici (yatici? yatzici? hmm) in bodrum which can be best explained as somewhat between a tropical paradise meets heaven crossed with a really good launder - they hosted the best robes and slippers out of all the hotels. this was for sure a dreamy stop. we also ventured to the ancient abandoned city ephesus and braved the million degree heat. this place was great, all preserved marble streets and mosaics and one seriously big library. outside stalls also promised 'genuine fake watches', is there any other kind? + i discovered straws that resemble fireworks.

i have realised that i have waay too many photos to upload in one post - so there shall be a series of many explaining my recent internet m.i.a

so at the beginning of our trip, after a very sketchy flight from istanbul (top of turkey) to bodrum (bottom of turkey), we were living on a sailboat for a week travelling around the turkish coast. was so relaxing - not having to do anything really does evaporate all stress - and the food was amazing.. so much food.

and i may or may not have reread harry potter 7
